Associé à plusieurs architectes, Christian de Portzamparc a ici imaginé un grand parc de 7 hectares duquel un ensemble de 11 ilots représentant 1900 logements émerge. Le projet des Jardins de la Lironde est un de ces ilots, et, par cette localisation et cet environnement exceptionnel, bénéficie ainsi d’une accessibilité vers le centre-ville tout en offrant les avantages d’un environnement naturel idéal. Au cœur même de la ZAC, le vallon du ruisseau de la Lironde dans lequel est situé le projet propose une topographie particulière qui, associée à une végétation environnante éparse, permet une configuration en ilots indépendants jouissant d’un panorama unique sur la ville et ses alentours.
